Kolkata is a city in Eastern India at the border of Bangladesh. The people of Kolkata are Bengali and we have our own culture, food, festivals and traditions. Bengalis are known for our love for food, and we have several recipes of our own that are unique to Bengal and cannot be found in other parts of the Indian subcontinent. Therefore, I made a zine that’s a guide to the best street foods that can be found in Kolkata, along with the best shops and locations to get them at. The back cover of the zine is a map where I marked all the locations I mentioned in the zine and also provided a list of the foods that are available in those locations.

The illustrations were all initially done on procreate. All of the text is my own handwriting. The zine was then printed on a risograph machine with three colors - mint, yellow and bright red. The printing and binding was all done by me. I made 40 copies.

In some of the pages, I also included the line-art of the carts in which the foods are prepared, and the historic architecture of some of the locations, in order to fully capture the vibe of the city. I have included fun facts about the history of some of these foods and places as well!
