This is a picture book targeted towards middle schoolers and here I illustrated a festival from my hometown.

There are a total of 15 pages in the book. Each page is silkscreened using 3-4 colors and they overlap to make more colors. The text in each of the pages is my own handwriting. I handbound this book myself and chose the Japanese Stab Binding method.

Durga Puja is the most important festival celebrated in Kolkata, and it was a big part of my childhood. Now that I live in NYC, I haven't been able to go home for the festivities for several years. So in 2023 during the time of Durga Puja I made this book. It was such a joy to bring it to life on these pages!

The text in the pages is written in Bengali, which is my mother tongue. However, you can access the translations by clicking the button below, and it will take you to a document where I explain each custom and ritual that I have illustrated in the book and provide translations for the text!

If you click on an image it will open in a pop-up and you can click on the arrows to flip through the book.
