This is a series of bicolor linocut reduction prints that show different times of the day in a forest. My aim for this project was to explore how using only three colors (including the color of the background) one can vastly change the mood of an illustration. I specifically chose to illustrate a forest because forests have various different associations - they can be fun, enchanted, scary, haunted, a place people go to for an adventure and a place where people unwillingly get stranded. In this series I have no characters and I relied solely on colors (which is the only thing that's different in each image) to see if I could evoke these different moods.
